Maniche

Portugal 2017

He made his debut at Benfica, but really made his name at Porto. A key part of Mourinho’s Porto squad that won the UEFA Cup and Champions League in back-to-back years, he was known for his stamina and work rate. He went on to play for some of Europe’s biggest clubs including Chelsea, Atlético Madrid and Internazionale. In total, he has won three league titles in three different countries, and is one of a select few to have played for all of Portugal’s big three clubs. For Portugal, he played at UEFA EURO 2004 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup. His greatest success at international level came at EURO 2004. He scored the winning goal in the semi-final and was named in Team of the Tournament, as Portugal finished runners-up.
