David Albelda

Spain 2017

David Albelda is simply a legend at Valencia. He captained the club for over ten years, played over 550 games and won six major titles for Los Che. His presence for club and country was vital, as he played a holding midfield role allowing the more attacking players to express themselves. This was most obvious between 2000 and 2004 as the club reached consecutive Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001, won two La Liga’s and the UEFA Cup. He also had two loan spells with local rivals Villarreal. He represented his national team at the World Cup in both 2002 and 2006, as well as UEFA EURO 2004.
