Christian Abbiati

Christian Abbiati is best known for his time with AC Milan where he amassed 380 appearances over an 18 year spell, playing more games for the Rossoneri than any other keeper. He has starred for Europe’s biggest clubs, having spent time on loan at Juventus, standing in for the injured Buffon, and also at Atlético Madrid. While at Milan he lifted three league titles, one Coppa Italia and a Champions League. At his peak he was regarded at one of the best stoppers in Serie A, known for his commanding stature in the box, composure and consistency. He was selected in the Italian squad for UEFA EURO 2000 and the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and made his debut against Switzerland in 2003.
